Ron Korn, MD, PhD
Founder and Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Korn is one of our most recognized board-certified and fellowship-trained radiologists. A scientist at the core, he completed a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Molecular Biology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, which provided a solid foundation for his Medical training at Stanford School of Medicine followed by post graduate training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Korn specializes in Nuclear Medicine and Cancer Biology with extensive involvement in clinical research as both a study investigator and clinical publication author that has afforded him in-depth knowledge of the common pitfalls and complex challenges associated with clinical trials. Dr. Korn has received public recognition and awards from the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American College of Radiology Imaging Network, Ibis Foundation of Arizona, and received the Top Doctor Award for Radiology and Nuclear Medicine. Though his professional accolades accurately reflect his clinical excellence, his current professional associations, education based activities and commitment to clinical research quality make up the core of this professional. As Imaging Endpoints' Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Korn provides the medical perspective, oversight and leadership that is critical to the services we provide.

Doug Dean Burkett, PhD
Chief Executive Officer and President

Doug Dean Burkett has launched, led and grown publically traded pharmaceutical and biotech companies and brings a wealth of business experience to our team. His experience in drug and device development, global clinical trials, and contract research services enables us to provide our clients a customized service-level that is unparalleled in the industry. Prior to joining Imaging Endpoints, Dr. Burkett cofounded Champions Oncology, Inc. [OTCBB: CSBR] and as CEO/President he established a drug development business, a novel personalized oncology business and the first patient-derived xenograft CRO business that has attracted nine of the top ten pharmaceutical and biotech companies as customers. Prior to Champions Oncology, Dr. Burkett was Chairman, CEO and President of Zila Inc. [NASDAQ: ZILA] where he was inventor in six patents for early detection of squamous cell cancer, led a successful effort to obtain FDA approval of the world's first oral cancer screening product and repositioned Zila as a growth leader in the professional oral care marketplace. Doug started his career by obtaining a PhD in Chemistry from the Cancer Research Institute at Arizona State University where he developed and tested anticancer drugs in collaboration with the National Cancer Institute.

Manny Ramirez, RAC
Sr. VP Compliance and Regulatory Affairs

Manny Ramirez brings years of established experience in the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device industries to his role as the Sr. VP of Compliance and Regulatory Affairs. Adept at leading management teams in implementing quality systems and formulating regulatory strategy, his most recent role was as Sr. Quality and Compliance Director at Cardinal Healthcare, where he was responsible for quality and regulatory requirements for advance molecular imaging products, overseeing 37 facilities and managing pre-commercial and commercial quality/compliance projects. Prior to this role he was the QA/RA leader at GE Healthcare, where he managed the Quality Management System for new product introductions. Over a six-year period Manny also held increasingly responsible positions at Zila, Inc. (NASDAQ: ZILA) where he ultimately served as Vice President of Compliance and was responsible for management of the corporate quality systems for drug products, API and medical devices. Manny received a MBA in Business Management and a BS in Chemistry from the University of Arizona.

Jatinder Kaur, BS, MS
Vice President of Imaging Operations

Jatinder heads the Operations team of Imaging Endpoints and brings with her years of operational and technical expertise. Prior to joining Imaging Endpoints, Jatinder was the Vice President of Imaging Operations for Intrinsic Imaging and was responsible for managing and overseeing all operational activities for multi-site Phase I-IV trials for different therapeutic areas. Prior to that, Jatinder worked for over 8 years with Perceptive Informatics Medical Imaging, a division of PAREXEL, one of the world's largest CROs. During her tenure at PAREXEL, Jatinder held various senior technology and management positions within the medical imaging department. Jatinder has extensive experience in developing, managing and delivering advanced medical imaging technologies for clinical trials and has successfully led several clinical trials for therapeutic areas including Oncology, Neurology, Musculoskeletal and Cardiology. Jatinder holds a Bachelors and a Masters in Computer Science and also holds a Master’s Certificate in Project Management from Boston University.

Candace Friend Shelton, MS, CCRA, CCDM
Vice President of Data Management

Candace Shelton brings over 26 years of extensive experience in clinical research across numerous therapeutic areas and all phases of clinical trials.  Candace is a published author and recognized innovative industry expert in clinical data management and clinical operations.  She is a Certified Clinical Data Manager (CCDM) and a Certified Clinical Research Associate (CCRA).  Prior to joining Imaging Endpoints, Candace held various leadership positions as VP of Clinical Operations and VP Compliance at Sanguine Biosciences, Director Clinical Monitoring Services and Director Data Sciences at Celerion, Director Clinical Outreach at International Genomics Consortium (TCGA – The Cancer Genome Atlas), Head BHOPS Data Management at Genentech, Director Clinical Operations at Semafore Pharmaceuticals, and 17 years at Eli Lilly and Company at various positions including Chorus Data Management. Candace holds a Bachelor of Science from Purdue University in Psychology and Master of Science from Arizona State University in Clinical Research Management Regulatory Science.

Catherine Mulvaney
Director, Medical Scientific Affairs – Analysis Management

Catherine is the Director of Medical and Scientific Affairs - Analysis Management at Imaging Endpoints and brings with her over 16 years of clinical trial management experience.  She has extensive experience in technical project management, requirements analysis, data modeling, electronic CRF design, and data export design. Prior to joining Imaging Endpoints, Catherine spent 15 years at PAREXEL (formerly Perceptive Informatics) where she was the Associate Director of Engineering in the Medical Imaging Production Services group. Catherine supported the scientific and medical teams of a vast array of pharmaceutical clients with regards to study specific technology needs across the full range of deliverables.  Catherine is also engaged in industry wide efforts for clinical data standardization (CDISC). She is a contributing member of the CDISC Submissions Data Standards (SDS) Oncology sub-team, CFAST Breast Cancer, Prostate Cancer, and Colorectal Cancer therapeutic area teams.

Fernando Lopez
Director of Information Technology

Fernando is the Director of IT at Imaging Endpoints and brings 25 years of leadership. Prior to joining Imaging Endpoints Fernando spent 6 years at Symphony Health Solutions and Wolters Kluwer Health a driving a number of platform transformations. Fernando spent the last 3 years integrating Cloud technology as a strategy to support growth and various business offerings. Prior to that Fernando worked at Fortune 500 company supporting infrastructure for manufacturing, logistics, finance and enterprise platforms. Fernando is currently forming the IT team and defining the strategy and platform to support Imaging Endpoints growth. He holds a BS in Computer Engineering from ITESM – Mexico and a M.S. in Computer Science from University of Miami.

Carlos Pineda
Director of Quality Management System

Carlos Pineda brings twenty-three years of Quality experience in various manufacturing industries, including seven years in medical device and pharmaceuticals Quality Assurance, to Imaging Endpoints in his role as Director of Quality Management System. Skilled in the creation, implementation and maintenance of quality management systems, his most recent function was as the Clinical Products Team Quality Manager at Cardinal Healthcare. In that position he was involved in the technology transfer of Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Drug sponsored products from IND to full cGMP commercial production at numerous facilities across North America. Prior to his role with Cardinal Healthcare, Carlos was the Quality Assurance Manager at Zila, Inc. (NASDAQ: ZILA). Other accomplishments include development and deployment of ISO-9001 compliant quality systems for both Flexpak Corporation (medical device packaging) and Rhone-Poulenc Basic Chemicals (Rare Earth based high temperature magnet alloy manufacturing). Carlos received a Master of Arts in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Arizona and his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Arizona State University.
