Radiomic analysis is a high-throughput method that quantifies a tumor’s phenotype at a microscale level (voxel/pixel level) by using thousands of image-based features obtained by histogram and texture analysis. Radiomics provides the opportunity to create a wide variety of imaging biomarkers or signatures that can be useful for understanding the biology of a tumor or diseased tissue, early prediction of response and prognosis.

Unlike traditional biomarkers derived from blood or tissue through invasive procedures, radiomic signatures are developed non-invasively from standard of care conventional imaging such as CT, MRI, PET, chest X-rays, mammography and ultrasound.
